Monday Motivation for 2014

NewYearsResolutions Monday Motivation for 2014Happy 1st Monday of the New Year, friends!  I hope everyone had a fabulous holiday and that you were able to share it with the ones you love.

It’s been awhile since I’ve been able to post.  Right before the holidays I came down with a nasty case of bronchitis.  I’m talking ‘I-didn’t-leave-the-couch-for-3-days’ type of bronchitis.  Thank my lucky stars that I have a good man who takes care of me.  I recovered just in time to make our trek back to Buffalo to visit my family for Christmas.  The day we got back to Philly Zak’s parents came to visit us for the first time…Then just as I chisel out some time to write, my blog server goes down for a couple of days.  Oy vey!  It was a crazy hectic holiday season, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

New Years Resolutions

I set regular goals for myself throughout the entire year, not just when the ball drops.  This way I’m always pushing myself to be better.  A few things that I’ve been working on…

  • Eliminate fake food from my kitchen.  This has been a continuing goal of mine for a long time.  I take small steps to rid my fridge of the non-fat, no-sugar, zero-calorie junk and replace it with the real deal.
  • Tackle and finishing my long reading list.  I have this horrible habit of reading books up until the last 3 or 4 chapters.  I usually end up loving the books I read so I try to savor every last word.  This results in the book gets put back on the shelf with the last few pages untouched.
  • Try new things.  Two that are on my list so far-rock climbing and kayaking.
  • Worry less.  Worrying does no good.  There are more productive ways to use my time.  Plain and simple.

What are your New Year’s Resolutions?  Do you regularly set goals for yourself?  How do you hold yourself accountable?
